Danny caddyshack Noonan
They've had some spectacular failures. Looks like they're going straight east on the equator directly south of Hawaii. Link to comment
AdventurePoser
Very cool! I will be watching for it! Link to comment
AdventurePoser
???? Did I miss it? The evening was reasonably clear, would think I would have seen it... S Link to comment
David13
Posie You missed it. It was a successful launch at the equator and 166 degrees east longitude. The Intelsat 19 satellite was placed into a geosynchronous transfer orbit on the way to a final orbital position. You can still see the launch on the website. This was another of their many successful launches. dc Link to comment
AdventurePoser
Aaargh...it must have just been misty enough to obscure it. Dang! S Link to comment
Danny caddyshack Noonan
Posie By the time it crossed our longitude it was essentially out of the atmosphere having come from Hawaii longitude. Only thing that might be burning at that time would be a liquid upper stage in vacuum and not very visible at all. Also, being on the equator, might be below the horizon with our higher latitude (just guessing). Aug 2nd and Dec 1 are the next two satellite launch dates out of VAFB. There are probably a couple Minuteman III Launches between now and the second one also. Link to comment
