Some Stats: Machine purchased New in 04-86.

Some major things along the way:

New Tranny was needed @ 97,350, (Dealer Serviced) and the body parts were custom painted at that time. (Original color was Madison Metallic Silver.)

A Broken Valve spring @ 170,400 required the removal and, (while doing one), replaced all of them at that time, (without engine removal or dis-assembly.) Did this myself.

A used HES was installed @ 174,180 (Yes, they even go tit's on these.. )

A low mileage used rear drive was needed @ 177,080. (Self Install)

It took 12 years for the first 100, and 14 for the next. The head has never been off, and the crank/rods/pistons have never been out.

In that time frame,

25 Tail Skins, 20 Nose Skins.

74 total oil/filter changes (2,700 avg)

1 replacement stock tail brake disk

2 new sets EBC nose disks

Coolant/Oil pump rebuilt twice

3 Clutch's (Current has aprx 103,000, done with new tranny)

2 timing chains and guides

There's more details, yet don't feel like digging into the log any further.

I'd just like to see one of the "new" JapMW's ever reach this far without having to be dis assembled (head off, or crank out), in one way or another.

Congratulations on the milestone. I worked up a similar list when I crossed 300K. I had a couple of alternator and starter rebuilds in there somewhere, too. For the most part, it's been a really dependable bike that now sits a lot more than it ought to.

I appreciate the sentiment, but Japanese isn't the crap it used to be. I still ain't buying one!
