steve.foote Posted December 9, 2005 Share Posted December 9, 2005 Jerry is referencing the pinch bolts on the lower fork clamp. They are Torx screws and are supposed to be torqued to 24nm. Many here have also reported them being loose. Link to comment

Emoto Posted December 10, 2005 Share Posted December 10, 2005 24 NM is just a hair under 18 ft/lbs so that isn't really very tight. Those triple clamps are aluminum and the bolts are steel, so an overly enthusiastic tightening can strip the threads. I suggest using a torque wrench. Link to comment
