CopsRT
Any one have any thoughts on what bulbs to use on my R1200RT for upgrades from the stock bulbs, and any thoughts on adding aftermarket lights and where to add them with what brackets and who makes the brackets?? Link to comment
Warren_H
I went with a HID Conversion kit for both low beams. Check out this thread. Link to comment
wardyRT
I just plugged in some PIAA H7's in the high and low beams. They're plenty bright for me and you can get them on e-bay fairly cheap. Link to comment
Survived-til-now
Straight exchange of the standard bulbs for Xenon bulbs is definitely worthwhile (up to 50% brighter). Cost £17sterling - Phillips or Bosch (Halfords in UK just as good) If you often drive in wet weather with oncoming traffic then you might want the HID but they are expensive. Plus - I set my lights up a little to just catch the wing mirror as I accelerate on overtake - I can see that the driver's attention is caught and they often pull in a little to give me room. Put in HID and they might be too bright. I don't think there is the room to mount them under the oil cooler - not if you are heeled over and hit a bump. You'll take the lights out or worse (as a friend on mine found out!). Link to comment
WBoyter
Thanks, that's some info I was looking for! Link to comment
SkidMark
I replaced one with a yellow drving. It helps to be noticed and not blend in with normal traffic Link to comment
Rich06FJR1300
would you use the same kit for the older RT's? (2002 model). I have an H7 bulb for the low beam and and H3 for the high beam. Link to comment
