Kanga Posted November 17, 2005 Share Posted November 17, 2005 Howdy I owned the R1150RT (2001)up till a week ago, swore I would never own another BMW (surge problem that BMW would never admit to). Took the 1200RT for a test ride, 5 days later I own one, now I remember why I like riding again. One fantastic machine. Looking forward to many many miles ahead. Link to comment

HairyCannonball Posted November 17, 2005 Share Posted November 17, 2005 When I bought my R1200RT I went to the dealer fully intent on test riding and buying an extremely clean '04 R1150RT that was there. I rode the R1150RT for a nice long test ride after which I was completely convinced it was the bike for me. Unfortunatly for the balance in my checking account it was open house weekend at the dealership that day and they offered me a test ride on a new R1200RT. I accepted, fully convinced it would prove the R1150 was the best choice given the substantial price difference. It only took 5 minutes of riding and I forgot all about the R1150RT. 12000 miles later I couldn't be happier. The R1200RT is truly a spectacular piece of machinery. Enjoy your new ride.
