Can the seal on the final drive output shaft be replaced without taking the drive apart? Its starting to leak bad. Bike is a 2000 1100rt.

Evening mikenh

By output shaft are you referring the crown bearing side oil seal? If so then yes it can be replaced by running in a couple of small screws then pulling the seal. The new one can then be driven in. I use a special made seal driver I machined up but if you are careful and creative you can drive the new one using the back of the old removed seal.

Added: if you are by chance referring to the pinion shaft seal then that is more difficult to do at home & will take some special made tools & a bit of knowhow.

Just to clarify, do you mean the part to which the wheel bolts to, or do you mean the part where the shaft drive enters the final drive? (which are prone to oil seepage).
