wardyRT
My mileage accordingn to the trip comp. has been steadily declining. I started w/ 1000 on the clock, my first 600 miles ran about 47 miles/gallon. My most recent check (at 2600) says 40. Any reason to be concerned or is it just a glitch? I'm handling my own maintenance so any advice is appreciated, thanx. Link to comment
FIRST_BEEMER
Mine stared to drop at 17K from 46.1 now at 44.3. I did the valves, plugs and air filter. Same thing. At 13k it dropped and I added Chevron Techron and it came back up. If I find the cause I`ll post it. If you come up with anything please post it. I thought it might be a winter fuel blend also.???? Gkgeiger
At 15k miles I'm still averaging over 50, usually 51-52. Link to comment
wardyRT
Well it's good to hear from all sides of the question. I notice that the longer I ride the bike in a single stretch, the higher the mileage reads (at 10 mi., 38.9 mpg/at 75 mi., 45 mpg.) even tho I'm not riding any slower. I'll just go back to the old mental calculation. I've never run out of gas in 18 years and 10 bikes (knock on wood), no need to get lazy now. Link to comment
Gkgeiger
With a 300+ mile range there's no reason to run out. Link to comment
