Wayne Cowen
Recently a little hard starting when cold. Must briefly hold pressure against spring load at full choke after running.....even then it usually stalls and requires 2nd or 3rd attempt. Runs fine.....when warm idles fine and restarts instantly. Would be most appreciative of opinions as to what to check first. 98 1100RT 38,000 miles Link to comment
dirtrider
Afternoon Wayne Start by doing a complete throttle cable adjustment (including at the twist grip) , then once the main cables are set correctly adjust your choke (fast idle cable). It sounds like your choke (fast idle ) cable is set a little too low to keep it running on cold start. If it still doesn’t start correctly see the post below on cold starting issues. http://bmwsporttouring.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=696283#Post696283 Link to comment
Wayne Cowen
Just noticed the new post by MLand.....sounds like the same issue. Think I will just wait for it to get worse......or wait for MLand to do the troubleshooting for me! :-) :-) Link to comment
Great White North
He He... And I was reading this post hoping someone had solved MY issues :-))) I will post my findings once I can spend some time on the bike doing some troubleshooting. Good luck. Link to comment
