Danny caddyshack Noonan
Nice pics! On the Allied side of the lines, BMW motorycles were seen. I had an uncle who was in the messenger service. Before he passed a number of years ago, he told me they liked the BMW bikes better than what they were given by the Brits. They had gone behind the lines to string wire across the road to "procure" the BMWs. Then, it was a tricky ride to get back. I'm assuming this was done more than once. Link to comment
Francois_Dumas
Cool! Always wanted to go there ! Now, usually there is a booth with flightsim stuff, a group called the MAAM-Sim. They have modeled some of the museum's aircraft in great detail. If you mention my name in that booth, you might get a glimpse of recognition from some of the old-timers..... I still host their files and gave them their forum ;-) Link to comment
Sweendog
Wow, what a beautiful Stuka! Does anyone know the make of that Guzzi-looking V-twin? Reading is just around the corner from me, I'm putting this event on the calendar for sure! Link to comment
Paul Mihalka
"Does anyone know the make of that Guzzi-looking V-twin?" I think Indian built a few shaft drive V twins for military use, just like Harley built a few BMW style boxers. I think the "invention" of the Jeep killed the US military motorcycles. Definitely for military use a Jeep makes much more sense than a bike. Link to comment
