Hi,

This may be a noob question, but what is the purpose of the access hole on the side of the swingarm? (The part between the transmission and rear end.) I'm about to change the tranny and rear end fluids, but noticed this plug on the side of the swingarm, and was wandering why its there. confused.gif

That is the pivot pin that the swingarm pivots on. There are two sets of these pivots, one set on the forward end that cact as pivots for the swingarm, and another set at the rear of the swingarm for the final drive to pivot on.

What Mike said. You don't want to mess with the pivot bearings unless you suspect they are shot. No need to do anything to them re normal tranny and final drive oil change.
