mgold Posted November 4, 2005 Share Posted November 4, 2005 Went out on a ride yesterday and smelled something burning. When I stopped to find the problem, found oil leaking on the ground. Further investigation found oil sprayed from the engine back. Can't figure out what is going on. Bike has not been ridden very much lately and this just started out of the blue. Any thoughts on what the problem may be would be appreciated. Since there is no dealer within 2+ hours of Indy, I am wondering how to diagnose and maybe even fix. Thanks... Link to comment
ShovelStrokeEd Posted November 4, 2005 Share Posted November 4, 2005 Well, to start with, Twin Cities BMW, Urbana, IL is only about 3 or 4 hours away. Wash bike and spray down to remove external traces of oil. Go for a short ride. No oil? Go for a longer ride. Too much oil, go for a shorter ride. Look in the area where oil first shows itself.
