Chef Eric
Good afternoon! I have a 02 R1150RT and I need to replace the headlight bulb. I saw that it is an H4. I have looked around the forum and have two questions. What are folks using in an H4 and how hard is it to replace. Thanks! Link to comment
Chef Eric
I had seen on the parts list that its an H4 but I was told by a dealer that the low beam is an H3. Can anyone specify? Link to comment
Stan Walker
The high beam and fogs are H3's. The low beam is an H7. Not hard to replace, the instructions are in the manual that comes with the bike. Stan Link to comment
Chef Eric
Is the H7 one that I can buy in a local autoparts store or do I need to go to a dealer? Link to comment
Stan Walker
Don't know, but I would expect you can. I buy mine online from a company in England. I keep a spare bulb on the bike tucked in the fuse box and replace it whenever it gets used. Stan Link to comment
Dan M
Auto parts store should have it. Link to comment
Linz
I like the Osram Nightbreakers. Fabulous headlight globes. Linz Link to comment
Quinn
H7 is readily available at Auto Zones, etc. Be careful not to use the super-dooper extra bright ones because they have a much shorter life. Read the back of the package if you get "ultra-vision" bulbs and see which ones have the best compromise between brightness and longevity. ---- Link to comment
dan cata
And don't ever touch the glass part with your fingers The grease on your hands also shortens the life of the bulb. Dan. Link to comment
Mr. Frank
Go to powerbulbs.com for really good choices. They are in England and provide good service. That's probably the outfit Stan mentioned. Link to comment
