EXUP Valve removal

I'm thinking of changing the end can on my K13S and I've heard that the bike performs smoother if the exup valve remains open all the time, plus also gets rid of that little delay from off/balance to open throtle at c5500RPM. I know a couple of guys who've done this with their non BMW bikes and in each time resulted in smoother delivery.

 

Has any one remove the exup on a K13 and what are/were the effects?
