ChuckS
Got back from 4 days in Hawaii (funeral) and this morning got ready to hop on my 05' 1200 RT for my daily ride to work and found a dead battery. I had un-plugged my radar dictator and my XM receiver. These are run off a separate fuse block ran directly from battery pos and neg trems. I have a Gerbings duel plug off the battery as well. I coasted down the hill and got it started and am sitting here wondering 1) Why? I only have 7000 miles and its only 6 months old. 2) wonder if it will start in a bit when I head home?? Any thoughts about #1 Link to comment
Richard G
NA-Chuck, I remember reading in a post a while back that if the key was turned on and then turned off before the computer goes through its checkout procedure, something on the system stays on and can run down the battery. I havent experienced this and cant confirm if it actually happens. It seems that the battery had some power if you push started it and got it going. Or was it really dead? No dash lights etc. Rich Link to comment

JayW
I coasted down the hill and got it started and am sitting here wondering How? Did you just pop the clutch while coasting in 1st gear? Jay Link to comment
GelStra
If the RT has the same AGM battery as the 05 GS, they are very vulnerable to being discharged. They don't recover from it. Mine had to be replaced at 600 miles. Link to comment
Whip
Chuck Mine did the same thing...XM...BAEHR....GPS....I started unplugging everything when I turn it off and haven't had any problems since......I did have to charge it for a few hours first...... Larry Link to comment
