Limecreek
Need help. I know longer have an audio out signal to my headphone speakers. Here is what I've tried so far: 1. Replaced the cable between the V1 and remote audio adapter. 2. Replaced the stereo cable between the remote audio adapter and the Autocom. 3. Plugged the headset directly into the remote audio adapter. 4. Purchased and replaced the remote audio adapter--this is what the folks at Valentine recommended. If I turn the volume all the way up on the remote audio adaptor, I can faintly here the V1. And, the V1 internal speaker functions properly. Help! Link to comment
johnlt
I had trouble with mine once and changed the output of the RAA from the small micro connector on the rear to the larger stereo connector on the front. Been working ever since. Link to comment
Jerry Johnston
This is a dumb question but are you sure the headphones are ok? Have you plugged them into another source to check? Link to comment
RedMac
Start at the source.. use a mono-stereo adapter and plug headsets directly into the V1, if that works, then start moving back from there, one connection at a time. You obviously need a couple of adapters for this, male to male stereo adapter (3.5 mm, female on both ends) and mono to stereo 3.5 mm adapter (m 2 f). That will quickly tell you where the problem is. johnlt
One of the problems Mike is that there is no "stereo socket" or any audio socket on the V1 unit itself. It is integrated into the telephone style line tht goes from the V1 unit to the audio adapter box with a telephone connector on both ends. It is only the audio adapter box that has an audio out socket (actually 2 of them) Link to comment

That leaves the wire from the unit to the adapter to test...with a friend's V1 wire, perhaps? I've had these issues, not with the Valentine, but with phone wires, over the years off and on. It's invariably a broken/breaking wire or the plug, or worse, the female receptacle in the unit (telephone). That you can hear it faintly indicates your signal is barely getting out of the unit...unfortunately, not a good sign. On the bright side, Buckster will be back soon. Just follow McKinley to/from Torrey. Buck'll find the fault. Link to comment
RedMac
Ahhh.. sorry. I have the escort and made an (incorrect) assumption that the audio output was similar/the same. I'd start at the adapter box and if you aren't getting audio there, it's obviously either the adapter box or the unit. Sorry, poor advice on my part. Link to comment
Limecreek
The direct wire power adaptor was at fault. The accessory side was damaged. Fixed. Link to comment
