Taking bling to the next level

Having side cases and a top box matching the bike is one thing.

But I now have a glacier green state inspection sticker.

It is a bit hard to capture the color in a photo, but it is an exact match.

Left side case needs adjusting too.

It was just hung there for the picture. It is now back in the pantry.

As for a slow day, yes. I'm so sick of this heat and humidity I could scream...No wait, I already did that, and it didn't help.

You can probably get some eye shaddow that would match also.

Amazing you have a government that makes you put that ugly sticker back there in the first place.

What if you don't have a flat surface? Stick on the top box?

Here in PA we have to put the ugly sticker on the left fork. It's purple this year and the chrome crowd really hate it.

The inspection process for a motorcycle is a complete joke.

Yesterday was the norm:

I pulled in, showed proof of insurance, paid $15.00 dollars, and I got the sticker. They checked absolutely nothing.

The state and the inspection station have some more of my money, and I feel soooo much safer now.

Well Ed, they saw that your headlight worked when you pulled in. You didn't hit the building, so your brakes work. They could see your bike, so it wasn't smoking too much. All the windows in the building stayed in their frames, so it wasn't too loud. Just think of the bikes that didn't pass. Aren't you glad they're off the road.

Sidebag attachment issue aside, the perfect alignment of your inspection sticker belies the OCD nature of many BMW riders.

I've got the gene and passed it on to my son. A few months ago, I accompanied him as he purchased a new 135i. In Illinois, car dealers have a supply of license plates that they issue on the spot. After negotiating the deal, we were escorted to the "business office." The business manager completed his paperwork, pulled out a new plate, and slapped an registration sticker on it. Only . . . horror of horrors! . . . it was about 5 degrees off kilter. Worse, it was not centered in the indentation intended for the sticker. My gut tightened when I saw that, but I held my tongue.

As soon as we pulled onto the street, my son said "We're going to have to fix that sticker." :D

NJ just stopped doing bike inspections as of August. $65 to register the bike every year. A portion of that goes to pay for inspection. I guess we are giving the state money for nothing as well.
