4wheeldog
Apparently, when the economy sucks, fewer people are on the road, so they find other ways to kill each other. I know, glass half empty....... Link to comment
Nice n Easy Rider
Apparently, when the economy sucks, fewer people are on the road, so they find other ways to kill each other. I know, glass half empty....... This is apparently not the case for the reduction in auto fatalities although it wasn't specified whether fewer bikes were on the road. "But last year's reduction in fatalities came even as the estimated number of miles traveled by motorists in 2009 increased 0.2 percent over 2008 levels." Link to comment

ka5ysy
For the first time anybody can recall, we had no motor vehicle or biker deaths over the labor day weekend in Louisiana. Amazing statistic for us ! Link to comment
racer7
Trend is good but around where I live, traffic is visibly less on all major highways at any time you want to look, from holiday weekends to morning commutes. Makes the longer runs I have to do a lot more pleasant. Link to comment
Mike
Great to see this trend, but I wonder if it just reflects less miles ridden. Link to comment
bakerzdosen
Yeah, of course we'd like to see that number decrease to near-zero levels... Unfortunately, as long as human beings are allowed to pilot their own vehicles, it just ain't gonna happen... Link to comment
