Bry
Alright... I got it! Fitted last night, just gotta wire in the lights. Looks good and my backpack fits.. (35L) yes! shakes hands at the heavens! NO MORE SWEATY BACK!!!! Great to see the steel underbracket as originally I thought it may have been an all plastic affair which worried me a bit. Here's some piccies.. http://members.iinet.net.au/~bryone/P1010002.JPG Bits on bench steel sub frame with plastic carrier. http://members.iinet.net.au/~bryone/P1010004.JPG Clamped up, pretty good, uses an over clamp as well as the bolt from behind, came with paint protector for the actual hand rail. http://members.iinet.net.au/~bryone/P1010006.JPG Rack mounted. http://members.iinet.net.au/~bryone/P1010012.JPG Showing underside http://members.iinet.net.au/~bryone/P1010015.JPG Side shot http://members.iinet.net.au/~bryone/P1010017.JPG From behind. Joel
Nice job! Tell us about wiring in the lights. I'm moving my E52N over from my SV to my GS and would like to hook up the integrated brake light. Can I just tap the brake light wire, as I did on the SV, or will that cause a fault with the CAN-bus system? Link to comment
Bry
Unsure of yet, with the micro lamps with the Givi kit (incandescents) it's an extra 6W... I will try, and let you know, else it's a straightforward job to substitute high intensity LED's. If you shave the end of the LED you'll get a better dispersion for the reflectors. The Givi kit is neat in the way it works, has a contact strip under the box and then another betwixt the top and the bottom so there's no wires always bending across the hinge. Bry Link to comment
