dbldos
I have the an 03 K1200GT w/6000 K, mint condition and an 03 R1100S w/1500 miles, brnad new. I got hooked up with the 1st 5 payments made by BMW on the 1100 w .09 interest and they knocked off 2000.00 bucks so it was a great deal. Plus the 03 KGT was a snatch for 11,900 when I snagged it w/4500 miles. Love them both and love to swap out but I'm thinking of selling 1, most likely the boxer but the reale on the GT seems like it's gone up with the specualtion on a new model. I'm seeing 03's w/10,000 in Dallas where I am going for 14,900! I might sell the GT just to make a some profit, it's paid for and the boxer seems to have that nostalgic respect. But I hear the K will probably give me more trouble free 200,000K life. What do you think? Boxer or Brick? Keeping both seems a bit selfish since I really only need the K for everyday riding and Boxer for Track Day and fun rides when I just want to go hit the twisties, or country roads really out here in North Texas. Bobmws
I have a hard time believing that an '03 will "sell" for 14,900. Asking price is one thing. Look on the net to get an idea, IBMWR, I-BMW, Cycle Trader & Ebay. Link to comment
TMH
There was an '03 K12GT which recently ended on eBay with an opening bid of $11k, and a "buy it now" of $13k. Had something like 6k miles on it, maybe less. Never got one bid. Don't know why as I called the seller and it wasn't one of those scams where "the bike is actually still in France..." Others on eBay have recently sold in the $11-$12k range for 2003's. Seems like the 2004's are going for about $1k more. 2- 2004's are available locally (N. Cal) on Craigslist for asking prices between $13-13.9k. Mileage is usually in the 15k range. Seems like $14.9k is a dream. Also seems like some owners are trying to sell for such prices as they will be underwater on their loans if they don't. Tom Link to comment
tallman
If you can get $14,900 and want to sell, jump on it. I Bought that bike w/10,000 miles on it 9 1/2 months ago for several thousand less. Either bike can run for a long time if properly maintained. Good luck. Link to comment
