BEEMRBUM
12k service done with 14k to date. Bike runs smooth. Mixed h'way and country roads. Consistantly takes about 5 gallons of fuel after the fuel light goes on, and according to my odometer, I'm only averaging 40mpg. Would that be normal, or on the low side. When new and rpm's were no more than 4,000 rpm's got close to 50 mpg. Do I still have 1 gallon of useable fuel after the warning light come on. Thanks Link to comment
Bob Palin
40mpg seems about normal to me. I have at least 1.5 gallons left when the light comes on BUT I have had the sensor out of my tank a couple of times which may have changed things a little. I think 1-1.5g is normal. Link to comment
Ken/OC
Most people find ~1 gallon left when the light comes on. 40 mpg is normal. Twin-sparkers do a bit better. Link to comment
