XM / Autocom power loss

On a 2005 RT I installed a fuse block for accessories. Power is taken from rear recepticle. Positive to a relay , relay to battery, battery to fuse block, fuse block to autocom. Negative from autocom direct to battery, negative from fuse block direct to battery. All is well. No ignition noises. The autocom is a Pro 01 (5 pin)with earbud adapter extension cords. This seems to work very well without a 7 pin update from Autocom. My problem is, if I bike power the XM MY-FI radio from the front power outlet I lose the autocom rider to passenger and XM volume (total) What am I doing wrong confused.gif Leon

Not sure what is wrong. What I can tell you is that on my 05 1200 RT I ran an additional fuse block (Bluesea) directly to/ from the battery, then added Escort, Autocom, and XM I did add a small Raido Schack volume controll at the XM for level controll. I have the Active 7 Autocom, and so far it works like a champ. I have not used the rider to rider option or the cell phone...

Thanks for the speedy reply. My XM is a Delfi XM/ToGo and has a rechargeable battery. After the bat. dies I plug the power cord into the front outlet and this is when the Auto com is silent. The signal is still there but no sound. Turn off the ing., unplug the charger and it works again. I choose the rear outlet to powerup the relay therefore it shuts things off shortly after the key is in the off position. Leon frown.gif

The power outlets are not a direct to chassis ground. Likely you are introducing a ground loop by powering part of the system from on socket and part (when you have the problem) from the other.

Are you using an isolated interface between the XM and the Autocom? I would try that first. If you are and still having trouble give our tech dept a call and we'll see if we can figure out whats going on.
