Miles per gallon and Cee Bailey's ( R1200RT)

I think the Cee Bailey's Shield I bought(4" higher and 4" wider) has lowered my gas mileage by 15......I now get only mid 30's and was in the low 50's......I thought it was because I was two up but I just went 2000 miles solo and still only mid 30's......I did have the bike serviced so maybe they changed something....I'm going to put the original shield on and check it out....

I just changed from the +4 standard width CB to a +6 +4 and notice no change in gas mileage, I have it almost full up most of the time as I wear a 3/4 helmet and I was doing some good speeds too. I think a botched service is much more likely to be responsible.

I reset the average miles per gallon using the BC....same roads, same temp, BC says 55 miles per gallon with stock shield.....only 100 miles traveled.......I think the Cee Bailey's was too big......also the hesitation from 80 milies per hour is gone....

A friend of mine just returned from a 6k trip and said his mileage went down to the thirties with his tall Cee Baileys.
