DavidAnthony Posted September 20, 2005 Share Posted September 20, 2005 While on a recent trip I noticed that my gear indicator was out of whack. It was correct for 0,1 and 6 gears but the rest were 0 and 1's. Also it would work for awhile and then for no apparent reason who become irradict. Anybody else ever have this problem? Any ideas on what might be causing it? It is still under warranty and will be bringing it in soon. Link to comment

Posted September 21, 2005 Share Posted September 21, 2005 Three possibilities, from least to most likely: The RID itself has a problem; The electrical connector to the RID has a problem; or, The gear switch on the back of the tranny is bad. In the last case, fortunately you have a 1150 not a 1100 and the switch can be replaced without pulling the swing arm. Link to comment
oldvic Posted September 22, 2005 Share Posted September 22, 2005 Same thing happened to my '03 RT. With only 1500 miles on it at the time it quit working correctly. Mine showed only 1, 0, 3 and 5. The position switch on the back of the tranny was replaced and has worked fine since then. Link to comment
