Deaner
Any suggestions on fixing small chips in the paint on the fairing on an RT. Since it's fiberglass I'm not too worried, it won't rust. At some point, though, I may try to address it. And how about some suggestions on cleaning products, wax etc.? Thanks in advance, Dean Link to comment
PFP
Hi Dean First obtain the color touch-up paint from your dealer. Then purchase from a craft, art or ace hdw store a vey fine point paint brush. It is best to apply the paint in several light applications rather than fill the chip the 1st time with a glob of paint. On light color paint the touch-up will appear dark but as it dries will lighten up.I have recently tried Macquires "next tech" wax and had great results on my silver rt and my wifes blk 1150r. The wax on black paint fills the minor scrathes a leaves no swirl marks, also easy on easy off. Good luck. Phil Link to comment
Haynes
I cut a tooth pick in half and use the flat end to apply small dots of touch up paint. I bought a small tin of titan silver from a local auto finisher. The chips are still visible but not that prominent any more. Link to comment
