mikecrml
I have a 2004 R1150RTP, and need front driving lights that mount on the stock brackets that look like the Wheelan cop lights. Also looking for clear lense lights to fill the holes on the radio box and rear. Any ideas? E-bay is a no go. Where do all the old cop bike lights go? Is there some one hording all the "old" 1150RTP lights? I've tried Hollywood Motors- they were no help- sent Honda lights. Might have to steal a set off a CHP bike and change the lenses. Any advise or lead will help. I am making a replica of an Italian Autostrada Police bike. Link to comment
r77toy
Try Mike @ A&M Cycle Traders, he's currently parting out a 2000 RTP Link to comment
Starfighter
Code-3 is the manufacturer/distributer of most lights for RTP's..... But there are a variety of different lights used... Mine has the rectangular strobes and clear lens is available and I found the Hella 1400 look pretty good. (need to manufacturer a conversion mounting ).......... Link to comment
knight88
Mikecrml these are standard PAR36 lamps, if you want to replace these with clear or colored housing/lamps they can be bought here http://www.swps.com/ab2rounrubho.html they also have the code3 light to fill the holes in the radio box. mikecrml
r77toy- Do you have the number for A&M Cycles- I can't find it. Thanks Link to comment
upflying
I needed the PAR36 lamp holders when I bought mine from CHP. I went to A&S BMW in Sacramento (they serviced and sold the CHP bikes at the time) and they had a bunch of used ones lying around in the parts room. Apparently removed from wrecked or junk bikes. Picked up cheap, you might want to contact them. Link to comment

mikecrml
A&S had everything I needed, at a good price. A&M Cycles already sold all the good bits.Im building an Italian Autostrada police bike. Will post pics when it's done. Thanks for all the help! Anyone have problems running all the police lights. Front 'pursut' lights will be amber, the rest will be clear. Link to comment
ratfink
I run about 250 watts for lights on my bike when on the road. Another 110 watts for driving lights with high beam intermittent. I've never had a problem even with heated grips and vest on. All RT's have big alternators, some -P's, depending on year, even higher capacity, most of the specs I've seen are over 700 watts. I wired my aux lights through relays and changed the headlight to relay operation. Link to comment

Most if not all agencies are now running LED's instead of incandescent or strobes. Power drain from a LED is minimal. This is my ex-CHP RT-P with amber Code 3 LEDX lights. It's set up for funeral escorting. Link to comment
