FREEBEE
I am admittedly frugal! My local dealer has a couple of closeout-discontinued boxes. While pilfering through them I found these: for $25.00 Moto-Techniques bar spacers, I installed them and like the results. They have a torque arm as well slightly more $$$ Is there any advantage to this type of arm? (perforated) or is it strictly an appearance thing??? Link to comment
ShovelStrokeEd
Measure the torque arm c-c distance and compare to the one you have. The 1100SBX and replika bikes use a shorter torque arm which will raise the rear ride height quite a bit and quicken the steering. Not sure the RT front end geometry is as compatable, could create some handling problems. Good way to gain ground clearance though. Link to comment
FREEBEE
Thanks Ed, I looked it up on "Sierra's website and it indicates that it Maintains stock Paralever geometry The price at Sierra is $164.50, I think I could pick it up for $40.00. If there is no practical advantage, I will pass and use the money for GAS. Link to comment
BobFV1
I think that torque-arm thing might affect your warranty Link to comment
ShovelStrokeEd
Stock geometry for what model? The GS is different from an RT, the S is different again? The only way to know for sure is to measure. I doubt that there will be any effect on warranty. The various lengths will have no effect on anything but the angle of the U-joints and since the same U joints are used in all the bikes, with the variations in angles between the different models, BMW wouldn't have a leg to stand on.
