LUCKYFIND
Have a noise from my clutch most noticed when clutch is let out (ingaged) and in neutral. Clutch in, no noise. Noise might be mistaken as valve clatter, but it's definitely not valves. Suggestions?? Link to comment
T__
LUCKYFIND, you didn’t say what bike it was on? If on a BMW oilhead it is more than likely neutral gear rattle.. As the trans gear oil gets hot & thinned out it allows the 2 cylinder’s sharp firing pulses to rattle the play between the gear teeth.. It is perfectly normal & won’t hurt anything.. A lot of BMW motorcycles have that rattle clutch lever out,, goes away clutch pulled in.. See if it goes away as you revv the engine up a little.. Twisty Link to comment
LUCKYFIND
Thanks for the input. The bike is a 2000 RT. Revving does seem to make it go away. Link to comment
