Since only my right throttle body is making noise (worn shaft) would you folks consider it acceptable to rebuild only the right?

Since only my right throttle body is making noise (worn shaft) would you folks consider it acceptable to rebuild only the right?

While it's true in many cases that if you rebuild one item of a pair then it's a good idea to do both, in the specific example of oilhead throttle bodies it's common for the right side throttle shaft to show high wear while the left is still tight as a drum (for whatever strange reason.) So in this particular case my judgement would be that if only one side needs to be rebuilt then so be it, just do that side. It'll probably be worn out yet again before the left needs to be touched.
