Mighty Manfred
I currently have Avon RoadRiders on both ends and am very satisfied with them. The rear will need replacing soon. Price/benefit wise, any recommendations as to buy or avoid? I don't run at supersonic speeds; most of my riding is short trips but I have a couple longer trips a year. I'm looking at the RoadRider, Pirelli MT66, Bridgestone Battlax BT45, and the Bridgestone Spitfire S-11 (which I ran on my Yamahas). Link to comment
Mighty Manfred
Well, I checked the inflated widths of these tires and the clearance to drive shaft I currently have with the Avon RoadRider - which width is 4.8 inches. Not much clearance. The Pirelli and BT45 are each 5.1 or so. The S-11 is 4.7 It's less expensive than the Avon, I've used it before, and Dennis Kirk had it for a killer price of $56, so I bought it. R80RTKen
I am running Metzeler Marathon on the back, and a ME-33 Laser on the front. Link to comment
David R
Metzler Marathon was the best tire on my R76/6 ME88. Front and rear, then my repair shop stopped carrying them. He mounts them, so I buy what he has... I now have Avons and like them too. David Link to comment
