gefish
I just noticed an interesting quirk in the start-up permissives for the R12RT electronics. If I have the bike in gear and the clutch pulled in when turning on the key and flipping the kill switch, the starter motor won't engage. I have to release the clutch and pull it back in before I can engage the starter. Not a real issue, just peculier. Perhaps BMW's software engineers are not longtime riders. Link to comment
Ken H.
The Motronic has to see one cycle of the clutch switch to verify it's operation before it will initiate the start sequence. All the new CAN-BUS design BMW bikes are that way. Link to comment
JayW
I have often wondered why my bike will sometimes fail to start in 1st gear, while it does at other times. This explains it. Thanks Jay Link to comment
