NonComp
I'm posting this question for a friend. She was riding home, just after dark, on a highway at approximately 60 mph when the bike suddenly died with no warning. She coasted off to the side and sat there for half an hour. I'm not exactly sure if all electrics died, or whether it was just the ignition (I forgot to ask) but the bike would not restart. After sitting for half an hour, the bike suddenly came back to life and started normally. No further problems. Has anyone else experienced this on an F800ST? Link to comment
Firefight911
Start with checking all battery connections for corrosion and that they are securely attached. After this, check all your computer connections, etc. Have the battery load tested. Fuel level was ok? EWS ring service bulletin performed? Shouldn't affect things at speed but you never know. Bullett
There was this thread on F800 Riders about a similar problem Linky Link to comment
NonComp
Appears to be a variety of potential problems and solutions out there that affect all the F650/800 models. I've also read that you need to have the bike's computer wiped and the new ECU program applied on a blank slate, rather than apply the update. Some say the fuel pressure sensor is to blame, but it can also cause the fuel pump to go bad too. Link to comment
