Joe Frickin' Friday
2009 R1200RT here. I still have a spare alt belt from my 1100RT. Can I keep this belt as an under-seat spare for my 1200, or should I sell it (the belt)? Link to comment
Huzband
Part numbers are different, Mitch. Based on that, I doubt it would work on the 12. Link to comment
99Roadster
You can also let go of that spare Hall effect sensor while you're at it. Link to comment
Marty Hill
Mitch, I carried a spare from my 1150 for 2 years then found out it would not fit. Gave it to a member at the UN a couple of years ago. Link to comment
Satguy
The R1200 uses the "elast" belt. there is no way to move the alternator to adjust belt tension. You stretch the belt during installation with the "special" tool. If you were to stretch the 1100/1150 belt enough to install it on the 1200 it would break things. Sell the 1100 belt to an 1100 1150 rider. Link to comment
