SweetP
Just a few words before the photos. I hadn't ridden in almost a year because of a health problem so I was really ready and there's nothing like a trip to put things right. I had hooked in to two days of pushing an M3 around the Salzburgring, near Salzburg, Austria. As fun as that was, the following ride was even better. The route was: home-Schaffhausen, Switzerland-Munich-Salzburg-Leinz, Austria-Merano, Italy-Chur, Switzerland-home in 11 days. I stopped at the BMW Museum next to BMW's HQs in Munich and took a factory tour to watch Series 3s being made. No photos allowed in the factory. Salzburgring. Beautiful setting. 4+ kms, mostly high speed. The ride begins through the Austrian countryside. To be continued... Link to comment

Francois_Dumas
Glad you're riding again Paul !! Great pictures, thanks, looking forward to the rest !! Pity the Austrians charge for the Grossglockner though. The Galibier, Iseran, Col de Bonnet and others are just as impressive... but free... Link to comment

SweetP
Thanks, François, That was the only time I've been charged. My charitable guess is that the gov't, knowing that riders would be riders, decided it's best to keep the road in top shape, hence the toll. Link to comment
