Rubber Gaiter b/t trans & swing arm

After greasing the splines on the input shaft, I could not get the metal spring clip seated inside the swingarm (after trying for an hour). It kept popping out of the boot.

So I was wondering who do you need to know to get this in?

 

I need to order a new one as the evil clip was no match for my frustration.
