ChrisE
I am about to get my first BMW tomorrow, a '05 R1200RT. This is the first bike I have owned that has a windshield that serves a purpose. I'm not planning on riding this much in the rain, but would be gratefull for any tips on care and maintenance of this component. Thanks Link to comment
drodg
Basically BMW says to clean only with water and a pure cotton towel. Link to comment

RodB
Congratulations on your 1st BMW. I wish you many happy Kilometers (miles) with it. I wil tell you what I do to clean my windshield. I went to the local Dollar store and got a product called "Microfibre" made by Simons. $1 ea. qty:2. I keep one soaked with water in a small plastic container and one dry. I just wipe clean with the wet one and dry off with the dry one. Works great. When they get too grimy, I just throw them in the washer and start over again. Rod Link to comment
apm
I agree with the Plexus, it works wonders on my bike. If it's good enough for the aviation game, it's good enough for the RT screen. Link to comment
Ken H.
A lot of people love Plexus, but I'm not a big fan of the slightly oily film it leaves behind. The Novus and Cee Bailey's plastic polish products are good too. Link to comment
CraCol
Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover works great for getting the bug guts off.. Been using it for years on on bike screens with no ill effects. Craig Link to comment
