ABS unit removal??

Good morning- MY "spare" '03 R1150RTP is just about completely apart. What a great learning experience! Everything aft of the engine is off the bike, except the hanging brake lines and calipers.

 

NOW I read I should have drained the ABS unit while the rear brake lever was still in place to pump it. This unit (and entire bike) is NOT going back together, so I'm seeking suggestions about how to safely remove the ABS pump, lines, etc. for storage. Can I just remove everything, open up the bleeders, and let gravity do its thing? I could easily reconnect the battery if that would allow the ABS to pump the fluid out the bleeders?
