I have a GT and an S.... The s dosen't have the wind/rain protection of the GT, no cruise control, its lighter and more flickable.....but it is fast.......for a BMW. grin.gif

It is one of my summer bikes/heated grips/esa/abs/gps....

If it had cruise, it would have replaced the GT..... dopeslap.gif

Hi,

You might consider selling the GT,rather than trading.

The red ones are in short supply and go pretty quickly,I know that

I would be sorely tempted if one popped up in my area(Central CA)

Seems to be quite a few S's sitting in the showrooms,so maybe your dealer will make you a deal!!

You might also wait until the new GT comes out later this year, will be the S with a more touring oriented faring/riding position.

Has anyone else been hit with this temptation?

Thankfully, not me. After a Hayabusa and other fast bikes, I came to the conclusion I don't need more than 130 hp. And don't need to go any faster on the curves than with the K, so it takes a lot more than hp to sway me over the K. The new GT is a year away, so the K's safe for now. And if it looks like the RT? It's even safer dopeslap.gif

Test rode one when our new dealer opened up. What a sweet bike! Did a 45 min ride that was "escorted" so 2nd gear was all I got into. But fist impressions were very positive! LD tourer, can't comment.

But, you'd do better to part out that KGT than trade it in!

Got cruise?

Just to let you know. Emery Master, owner of BMW of North County in Escondido had one fired up when I asked for a demo ride.

Rode it up I-15 for a bit, decided I like my drivers license too much and bought a new 2004 K1200RS instead.

LOL! I rode that bike yesterday. I came to the same conclusion that it was just too fast considering the weight of the thing. I've thinking about a new bike.

I test rode a K1200S, R1200GS and R1200ST. I was impressed with all three and fell in love with the GS. But a couple hundred miles afterwards on my R1100R (that is paid for) and I decided it is good enough for me. Maybe in a few more years I keep it AND by the GS.
