Edgar
Recently the front brakes on a '97 RT with 17k original miles have started to squeal at slow speeds just prior to stopping. The pads have sufficient material left and the brakes have been maintained yearly (fluid changed and bled). There hasn't been any noticeable performance lost, but I can't sneak up on anyone any more. My guess is that I'll change out the pads, and the noise will go away. When you change out the pads do you use lubricant on the pistons? Any advice would be appreciated. Link to comment
RichardSpag
Try smearing some "copperslip" on the backs of the pads (taking care not to get any on the friction side of course!. This may be enough to stop the pads resonating. If you dont have "copperslip" where you are try a spray on anti-squeal product. Cheers Richard Link to comment
TomS
I tried copper grease on mine and it didn't do anything. Still have the squeal. Changed the pads around too. Still have the squeal. It started this spring after winter hibernation. All ok last fall. Beats me. I gave up. Squeal. Link to comment
