KER Posted April 26, 2009 Share Posted April 26, 2009 Im getting ready to work on a friends bike which is an '06 1200RT, and this is the first time working on it. Can someone give me a quick run down on how to change the final drive fluid and transmission fluid. From what i understand the final drive has to be pivoted backwards to drain/refill it? I also didnt see the drain plugs for the trans, are they behind the foot rest plates? Link to comment

marcopolo Posted April 26, 2009 Share Posted April 26, 2009 The only thing I'd add is that BMW specifies a 75W90 GL5 synthetic gear oil for the final drive (the pictorial mentioned 75W140 for both FD and transmission). Link to comment
