AutoCom Pro 7 Problem

I thought that my XM radio had crapped out, but it was fine in the car. The radio started being staticy after I got the female connector between my helmet and the AC unit wet, and seemed to improve if I unplugged and re-plugged it. However, the noise got worse, sometimes seemingly related to engine RPMs, began going up and down in volume on its own, and now just makes wierd sci-fi kinds of sounds.

heck the connection for corrosion, I had this type of issue as well. When I finally started taking apart the plug ins and really looking at then...., there was some green in side. I cleaned this with a solvent and vola' no more issues!

No knowing how to check the internal comdition of the connectors, I opened the box, only to find that about a square inch of circuit board was green. I sprayed it with a little WD40, gently scrubbed it with a soft tooth brush, and carefully dried it with a soft cloth. I think it's fixed.
