Trailer tire pressure

I've never much thought about it before, but my trailer tires say 990 lbs. max load at 60 psi. Does that mean I should inflate them to 60 psi? They "look" properly inflated at about 45 psi. These are the type of tires I'm talking about. I can get the actual sizes if needed.

I've got a similar setup, mine are at 45psi.

Inflate your tires to 60 and you'll notice the sidewalls are elevated off the road due to the higher pressure pushing the center of the tread (where it meets the road) outward also causing a lot of wear in the center. Drop your pressure til the sidewalls drop down and barely touch the road service, you want contact across the entire face of the tread. IMHO (do this with the trailer fully loaded with your stuff) Check your tires for wear after a short trip to help with the adjustment. Hope this helps.
