Rphoto
I bought my 1999 RT last fall with 48000 miles on it. Have 52000 not and just changed FD fluid. Fluid looked clean and I had a minor amount of what looked like grease on the magnetic drain plug. Is this normal as I've heard comments about pieces of metal on the drain plug. I haven't detected any clunking and no play in the assembly. Thoughts? Link to comment
philbytx
Worry not....the black sludge is Moly......it was put in at the factory and, even after a couple of oil changes, can hang around on the magnet for quite a while. Link to comment
smiller
Some black sludge-like material on the magnetic drain plug is normal. What you are looking for are metal flakes, or anything larger. Link to comment
