Question on aging brake pads

I just bought a '98 K12, and find the brakes to be much less responsive than my '94 K11. The K11 has new pads, and K12 presumably still has the originals - 14K miles.

Do you know if the stock BMW pad ages to the point of not being responsive?

Brake fluid has been changed recently on both, so that is not a factor.

Hi, if the pads/rotors have a light rust film, or have been contaminated with cleanig agent etc... then reduced performance may be a result... remove and inspect, clean rotors, clean or replace pads...

Then you must break in the new pads.... Which will have reduced performance until properly worn in.... dopeslap.gif
