Gerbings power question?

Will gerbings plug directly into a BMW plug - or, do you need an adpater?

Asking for a potential buyer of my Tiger who will ride back to Ohio from Florida.

I have no knowledge of gerbings, so I appreciate your help.

Answered my own question.

Adapter plug from Gerbings to BMW plug

Provides a direct connection from your heated garments to the accessory port, such as on a BMW motorcycle.

This plug is not a standard cigarette lighter plug.

also depends on how many amps youre pulling since the bmw outlet will only support a certain draw before the electronic fuse pops. SO for a vest its ok, but for a full heated jacket and pants probably not, which is why people wire directly to the battery.

Bike is a Trigerumph.

What the heck is a Tiger doing with a BMW plug?

No issue in that case. It should be good for up to 15Amps if large enough wires was used to connect the plug to the battary and it has a large enough fuse.

How else can Triumph charge so extra for them?

I use the single dashboard outlet on my 2001 1100RT to power my Gerbings Liner, gloves, socks and Zumo 550. Rode yesterday in 25 degree weather here in Massachusetts with the power setting on max. Works great!. :D
