I picked up a 2000 KLR250 for my 14yo son for Christmas day before yesterday (he hasn't seen it yet and it will be his learner machine). Seller only had it 2 months and couldn't figure out the hard starting. With only 4k miles, it was mistreated. For $1500 feel like I saved it from a bad fate. Link to comment

This year he went back to his 1200 GS for the trip. The 250 was nice to ride in the rough stuff. It sucked on the open roads though. One tough little bike! Link to comment
