MGN54 Posted July 31, 2005 Share Posted July 31, 2005 Going to be purchasing a tender for my battery. PO put in a BMW gel battery just a few months ago. Seem to remember a post about the gel battery needing a little more juice from the tender than a reg battery needs. What is the scoop on this? Do I need to get the BMW Tender? Also what adapter do I need to plug said tender in the side access port? Mark Link to comment

R1150 and older any battery maintainer that cuts out at 14.4V will do. I use a YUASA Hot Shot 12V, 900 mA maintainer. Do I need to get the BMW Tender? BMW wanted you to believe so. The alternator and voltage regulator stayed the same when they switched to gel batteries...so why a special charger. Link to comment
