How to add a switched flashing red led light in dash for the look of security.

always seems to have people way too close to my bike or even touching it. been thinking about a method to scare people away a bit. i'd like to have a red led in middle of the dash flashing when i flip a switch. how would i accomplish this? i know it wouldn't replace an alarm or cable lock, but it's more to potentially keep people away.

You can buy 12v LEDs that flash. Most come with a plastic snap-in bezel for mounting.

 

Visit your local electronics supply store (maybe not Radio Shack).
