R80RTKen Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Hi All, Im flying thursday to Amsteram. After a few days of being a tourist in the Netherlands, I want to take a train to Prague. Anyone done this? Ive looked at a lot of train schedules and there are a lot of options. All trains to Prague look like they go thru Berlin. Has anyone taken a train from Amsterdam to Prague? Any one train better / more comfortable / faster / cheaper / more "betterer" than the other? Im looking for firsthand knowledge, take comfort that Im also looking at the Europe forums and the "Usual Places" too.. as an aside...anyone gonna be in Amsterdam this weekend? thanks! -Ken
Francois_Dumas Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I have, but a long time ago. All trains into Eastern Europe I took went through Vienna...... ! If you want to travel fast and comfortable, take the ICE trains (the German equivalent of the French TGV, doing some 180 mph or so).
azkaisr Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 And buy a 1st class ticket if you can. It makes a difference even on the ICE and sometime the price difference is not that much.
