Danny may have tried to PM Jamie but Jamie's inbox is over full and he's not getting PMs right now. I never heard anything from Danny. Right now we're on the road to John Day. Yesterday, I PMed Whip with directions and waypoints for the usual San Diego endpoint/sand and water gathering and fire station for witness signatures. Sorry that we couldn't be there Danny. I guess a park bench will do that to ya!!! Way to go Danny Boy!!!!! We are all proud of you!!!! We're breathing again!!! Another 500 or so miles tomorrow and he'll be here with us. He has indicated that that portion will be a straight slab shot to Sacramento and then to Diamond Springs. He's earned it!! Beer is stocked and cold when he gets here! Day off on the 7th and an early AM departure on the 8th with Jamie as the two of them do a day ride to the UN! Geez, you think he wants to go on a ride or something? Link to comment

Huzband Posted July 7, 2008 Share Posted July 7, 2008 Pulled in to P & J's about an hour ago. When does it cool off? Looks like there are some nasty storms between Las Cruces and Tucson on 2nd look. These are right along I-10. 10-4 on the storms east of Tuscon. I got hit pretty hard with cross winds, but serious rain didn't quite get to me. Only about twenty minutes worth. Temps went from 104 down to 69 in less than ten minutes. It was a nice, albeit short lived, respit. I had seven hours of 109+ after Tuscon. Anyway, thanks for all the wonderful encouragement. I just wish I could have seen it on the road. Maybe I'll post a ride tale when I get home. Nah, I'll just tell ya about it in John Day. Be there or be square. Link to comment

Friday night, & left at 3:30 am CDT. 1559.2 miles in 27 hrs, 10 minutes. Didn't document it though, so no certificate for that one. I'm okay with that. More later. Think I'll go get some sleep now.
