myshkin Posted June 21, 2008 Share Posted June 21, 2008 My cdrom in my Thinkpad G40 has bit the dust, tray won't remain closed, so I was thinking about replacing it with dvd rom. The problem is that all the discount stores on the internet list dvd roms that are compatible with other model Thinkpads such as the T40 etc. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for under $75 or so that will work with my laptop? I can't promise it'll work, but this page (from the same company - it's the same SKU) lists it as compatible with G40's. It'd be worth contacting them to be sure. Good luck. Link to comment
